 🏥 New Care Center Coming to Fulshear! Houston Methodist’s $247M Project 🚀

Hey, Katy and Fulshear friends! Exciting news is coming your way! 🚀 Houston Methodist has announced a whopping $247 million project to expand healthcare services right here in our community. No more long drives into the city—top-notch medical care is getting even closer to home! Let’s break down what this means for all of us.

🏗️ Building a Healthier Future

This fall, Houston Methodist will break ground on a massive expansion at its West Hospital in Katy and build a brand-new comprehensive care center near Fulshear. The project is expected to wrap up by 2027. Here’s the scoop:

  • $185 million is going into expanding the Houston Methodist West Hospital 🏥.

  • $62 million will fund the construction of a new care center next to the emergency care center in Cinco Ranch.

With our community growing fast, this expansion is a game-changer for local healthcare. 🌟

🚗 Why the Expansion?

With Katy and Fulshear booming, the need for more healthcare options is at an all-time high. No one wants to spend hours in traffic just to see a doctor. As Kyle R. Stanzel, VP of Houston Methodist West Hospital, said, “We have to be closer and closer to folks so they don’t spend their day getting to these appointments.” 🚙

This expansion will make healthcare more accessible, bringing everything from routine check-ups to specialized care right to our doorstep. 🏡

🔍 What’s New at West Hospital?

This is one of the biggest expansions since the West Hospital opened 14 years ago! We’re talking 129,000 square feet of new and renovated spaces. Here’s what’s coming:

  • 36-bed observation unit: Boosting the bed count to 307 🛏️.

  • Four new operating rooms: For those essential surgeries 🛠️.

  • 16 new emergency rooms: Ready for when you need them 🚨.

  • Five new neonatal ICU beds: Caring for our tiniest patients 👶.

  • New endoscopy suite, infusion center, and upgraded imaging equipment: Including MRI, CT scan, and ultrasound 🩺.

Plus, the hospital will soon have a 24/7 gift shop, an Einstein’s Bagels, and an upgraded coffee shop for those much-needed caffeine boosts! ☕️

🏥 New Care Center in Fulshear

As part of this community expansion, Houston Methodist is also building a new, three-story, 65,000-square-foot comprehensive care center near Fulshear. This will be their fourth center in the area, joining others in Aliana, Conroe, King’s Harbor, and Pearland.

The new center will offer:

  • Primary care and a same-day clinic 🩺.

  • Imaging, lab services, and physical therapy 🔬.

  • Specialized care in orthopedics, neurology, gastroenterology, urology, and rheumatology 🧠.
